Micah Kellner wins seat in the State Assembly

LOHV-NYC declared victory last night as humane candidate Micah Kellner won the race to succeed Pete Grannis in the Assembly's 65th District. Grannis was tapped earlier this year by Gov. Spitzer to head the state's Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), leaving his seat in the Assembly open. LOHV-NYC endorsed Micah in February.

Micah supports a wide range of animal protective legislation, from a ban on canned shoots and foie gras production to increased funding for humane education. You can read more about where Micah stands on animal issues here.
