Speakers announced for LOHV-NYC's winter meeting

Want to get active and help animals? Don't miss LOHV-NYC's Winter 2007 Membership Meeting on January 16th!

Confirmed speakers:

Council Member Tony Avella will give an update on his Pets in Housing Bill, Intro. 13, and answer your questions. Please arrive promptly at 6:30 if you wish to ask a question.

John Phillips will introduce LOHV-NYC's 2006 City Council Humane Scorecard. He'll also update us on the proposed ban on the use of wild and exotic animals in NYC.

Valerie Sicignano will present the 2007 In Defense of Animals Guardian Awards.

George Bliss of the Pedicab Owners Association will speak about the Horse & Carriage Association of NY's continued efforts to ban pedicabs from Central Park.

Peter Silvestri of Whole Earth Bakery & Kitchen will let us know what we can do to help save this vegan institution from extinction.

Larry Kopp of Farm Sanctuary will give an update on the LOHV-NYC/Farm Sanctuary/HSUS campaign to ban the sale of foie gras in New York City.
